The 2-year-old Adams County boy found in a hot tub last week has died.

A woman picking up her dog from the backyard of the house at 8199 Welby Road found the boy in the tub shortly after noon last Friday, Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Candi Baker said.

Deputies were called and tried to resuscitate the toddler before emergency medical technicians arrived, Baker said.

The boy, identified by the Adams County coroner as Kaden Newsome, 2, was airlifted to a local hospital, where he remained until his death on Tuesday evening.

Kaden and his 2-year-old sister had been left with an uncle while the children's father ran errands, Baker said.

The coroner's office hasn't yet announced a cause of death.

Adams County deputies continue to investigate "to see if criminal charges are appropriate," Baker said.

    A sad story.

If they charge the guy with the child who was electricuted by the exposed lamp wiring, then someone should be charged here. Unless we are talking about women and men and then they will be charged and punished differently.

No cover on the tub? How sadly stupid.

I believe the boy was found in a bath tub with how water and not a "hot tub". Am I remembering the incident correctly? If so, the headline is certainly easy to misinterpret.

Regardless, what a tragedy. Many holes in the story that I hope are answered.

It was a hot tub, and it had a cover. Doesn't matter. the kids were playing where they shouldn't have been, and the uncle was probably in his living room pulling down bong hits. He's an uncle, not a parent. I don't really know if I think he should be charged or not.

Seriously? He was in charge of the kids at the time, and he failed spectacularly. Even an uncle should know you don't let 2 year olds play outside unsupervised. Charge him.

The uncle was high and/or drunk. The father shouldn't have left his kids with him. Both should have consequences to pay. I do feel bad for the family for losing this wee one.. it's very sad.

You mean how would I like to be an irresponsible idiot? No sir, I wouldn't like it one bit. How would you like to be that kid's parents?
