Three Parker police officers broke down the door to a burning house on Monday, found a man in the kitchen and pulled him to safety.
The fire is being investigated as first-degree arson, but so far no arrests have been made, said Sara Walla of the town of Parker.
Parker police and crews from Parker-South Metro Fire Rescue Authority were called to the house in the 8600 block of Aspen Circle shortly after 8 Monday evening for a possible medical emergency.
The three police officers noticed smoke coming from the house so forced their way in through the door, said Andy Lyon, spokesman for South Metro Fire.
When they found the man in the kitchen, they carried him outside to safety.
The fire crews then attacked the fire and extinguished a small blaze in the basement.
The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.
