* She had to recover from a double hernia operation to even make the Olympic team, but now, Aly Wagner has settled comfortably into a reserve role for the U.S. women's soccer team. She comes from a very athletic family. Her husband, Adam Eyre, is a former professional soccer player with Miami and New England of Major League Soccer. Her sister Sam played soccer at California. And her brother Jered played football at Santa Clara. After watching her brother Jeff compete in triathlons, she thinks she might have found her next Olympic sport.

Your parents are from Wisconsin. So you must love . . .

I hate cheese. I can't eat it. It's not in the genes.

Actually, I was going to ask about the Packers.

They're my team. And Brett Favre, definitely. I love his passion for the game. He's one of the few athletes who you can say loves the game. It's how soccer is for me.

What about the old players?

I've been to the Hall of Fame. My dad likes Ray Nitschke.

If you win the gold-medal game, how will you celebrate?

I'm not allowed to take my shirt off, (so) time will tell.

What tunes are you listening to?

I do dig Britney Spears' new album. You can put that down.

You seemed reluctant at first to admit that.

Not anymore.

Poor girl, right?

Exactly. And it's good music.
