Players from both teams try to break up a skirmish on Thursday between Broncos defensive tackle Marcus Thomas (left, without helmet) and Cowboys offensive tackle Flozell Adams.
ENGLEWOOD Mix two teams, a dash of training-camp doldrums, plenty of job-related tension and sometimes things are going to boil over.
They did just that, at least for a moment or two during Thursday's morning practice, as Broncos defensive tackle Marcus Thomas and Cowboys tackle Flozell Adams had to be pulled apart after Adams pulled off Thomas' helmet and then swung the helmet to hit Thomas during run-game drills.
"Usually the second day is always that way,'' Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said. " … It never changes, that second day is usually a little bit more competitive.''
Thomas had stuffed a Cowboys running back in the backfield and Adams responded after the play. During the shoving and pushing, Adams got Thomas' helmet off and then swung it at Thomas as the two were separated by a pile of teammates.
The two sides quickly returned to drills as they continued to work in their second, and last, day together on the practice field.
They will practice Thursday afternoon, but both teams will hold their own workouts Friday with the Cowboys scheduled to work in the afternoon at Invesco Field at Mile High while the Broncos will practice Friday morning at their Dove Valley complex.
“You can expect that, especially from those interior guys because they’re pretty much more hands-on and face-on everyday,'' Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens said. "It’ll get a little chippy, and that’s just part of football. I think everybody regrouped and just got on with practice. It’s not the first time teams have gotten into a little squabble.''
For the Broncos, wide receiver Darrell Jackson, who suffered a sprained ankle Wednesday, did not practice Thursday morning. Jackson said it wasn't serious and didn't expect to be out too long.

It shows who's really winning the battle when a player gets upset because he's getting BLOWN up!! Our defense will come a long way from last year. thats for sure. Dewanye Robertson is key to this happening. Him being a force will sure up Marcus Thomas to make more plays or or other defensive end. I feel so good about his season!!!

The News turned to T.O. for an objective mature opinion? Is that the best person to comment about acting mature? Did he comment on all the stuff he said about Jeff Garcia when they were in SF together? Did he say anything about Donavan McNabb from his time in Philly? Good responsible journalism, do it the easy way! Just grab the biggest idiot on the field and get an opinion!

It's just nice to see TO show a little good through all his hoop-la that he has been known for. Like in anything in life, it's not how you start out your life, but rather, how you end it. Same for the career portion of it. i agree with you CourtneyBrown98, I think our defense is going to be much improved. I want to see a little more of our WR rookies, though, so we can get a better feel of how we'll be without Brandon for those 1st few games. It is sooo crucial to do well against our own division. Thank God, two of the games are at home (SD and NO). Oakland is important, of course, just to make a statement to the Raiders that we still own them.

Maybe, he read this:
http://www.sports-central.org/sports/...
* A remorseful Brandon Marshall of the Broncos tries to explain his recent troubles with the law in an in-depth interview with a local television sports anchor. Marshall plays the role of victim, claiming his actions were the result of a condition known as "Jungle Fever," named for an outbreak in Cincinnati in which sufferers are afflicted with an uncontrollable desire to commit crimes and play football. Marshall graciously accepts the three-game suspension dealt by commissioner Roger Goodell, and Marshall vows to remain trouble-free, which becomes a short-lived promise after Marshall is busted trying to join the "mile high club" with a team secretary underneath the Bronco statue at Invesco Field.
Perhap Marshall was too busy flying high! What a joke, now who's immature?

poor Flozell...couldn't take being burned at the line by a hungrier player. Wonder how they'll spin it on the HBO "Hard knocks: inside NFL training camp" series next week? Probably to make the Cowboys look even more like the pre-annointed SB winner. weak.

Broncos4Life1 this isn't about any of the stuff TO did before. He didn't point fingers. He just gave his opinion. Calm down.
I do find it impressive that he was able to both get Thomas' helmet off and then club him with it. Almost as impressive as Happy Gilmore taking his skate off to stab someone!!!
Go Broncos!!!

Bronco4life, great point. He isn't the best guy and as a WR he wouldn't have been anywhere near the trenches.
DDave-its not how you finish in life, its how you finish in a sports season (see Pats and Giants, or the Yankees the last decade) that it matters at the end. In life, every day counts and you are accountable for your actions. Understand the difference. I'm working on this with my 5 year old daughter and seeing people think that years of wrongs should be forgotten is not right, living with your mistakes is. Sorry to got nonsports related but father feelings are weird things.

sbhchawk, I understand what you're saying but my meaning is, that people can go through their whole life, from start to finish, as a bad seed. But many people, who started out life (meaning from the teenage years, on) in trouble (like Brandon), can either choose to continue that path, till they are either incarcerated or dead, or change it and live in a positive environment. My son is 30 and a test pilot. He started out on the right path and is continuing that path. Brandon has a chance to do the right things. It will have a direct influence on his career, certainly, but it will also determine his future when and if he meets a woman and wants to marry, have kids, raise them in a positive or negative lifestyle. You are what you eat. Brandon, I think, will get through his "wild ways", ok. People (for instance), like Travis Henry, fathered 9 kids through 9 different women. What made it worse is that he was not taking care of the financial responsibility that comes with being a father, till the courts ordered it. He is also facing another drug violation. Some people never learn.
