DESIGNING WINNER
America's vote crowned Jennifer Bertrand, 33, an artist and designer from Olathe, Kansas, the Season 3 champion of the popular reality competition HGTV Design Star. Viewers voted over two days at HGTV.com/designstar and through mobile-phone text messages. Bertrand wins her own show on HGTV and a feature in InStyle magazine. Her new show is expected to premiere on the network in January. Matt Locke, 38, from Los Angeles, was runner-up.
CHATTER
"As long as children need to be nurtured, then there is a place for this program because there's nothing else like it."
Brian Linder, founder of the SaveMisterRogers.com Web site. He launched the site when he learned PBS told member stations in May that it would feed episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood to them weekly instead of daily.
