Two Americans who love Puerto Vallarta

My wife and I are two Americans who love Puerto Vallarta.

We've gone there at least once a year since 1987, when we "discovered" it.

The Rocky's story about the slaying there of David Parrish ("Unthinkable happens/How things went from bad to worse in slaying of CU student in Mexico," April 5) points out that the people who caused the original problems by trying to rob Parrish's mother live far from Puerto Vallarta.

Even though the local politicians are corrupt, we've always felt safe.

Jeanne had her carry-on bag containing her passport, billfold and jewelry returned intact by a cab driver several years ago. She also left all her gold jewelry in the nightstand of our time-share one year, and it was all there waiting for us the next year when we returned.

They fill our jails here and you want me to believe your gold jewelry was there when you returned.

Larry and Jean M. Were you a bit confused when you decided to play games with Letters to the Editor?? Even the Mexican's can't stand their own country!!! They desert Mexico like rats on a sinking ship! Larry and Jean, your silly letter was a bit disgusting to some American's who feel Mexico is a dishonorable country encouraging their populace to engage in criminal actions by sneaking into this country!!

When you make a return visit, be sure to get proper instruction on how to avoid Hepatitus A-B-C... also antibiotic resistant Tuberculosis which runs rampant in the populace in Mexico.

Of course now that illegals have entered this country we will all be exposed to these diseases. Listen to the news and hear about how many tuberculosis outbreaks we will have in the future. It has already started in our prison systems.

Remember these people are the food handlers for most all fast-food outlets,AND restaurants across this nation.

Enjoy that meal in Puerta Vallarta guys! Bwahahaha!!!!

thanks T1anda, probably the best lobster I have ever had. (and it was under $20!!) I would not want to encourage anyone to go to Mexico if they have a pre-conceived notion that it is a bad place. We already have enough "ugly Americans" traveling outside of the country and don't need anymore.

The comments here are so stupid. Mexico is a fantasitic place depending on where you go. The border towns are gross though. The people bashing Mexico are simply racist..yes, you heard me, racist. What started out as an argument about illegal immigration has now turned into all Mexican's are bad, their country is nasty, they are diseased, etc....clear racism which proves that you were insincere in your concerns about illegal immigration... the truth is that you didn't want more "brown people."

Anyhow, I've traveled all of the world: been mugged, held by soldiers, pick pocketed and more...and I still LOVE to travel and adventure. People making stupid comments here are exactly the kind of people who ensure US foreign policy is horrible.
