Rosie, a pitbull mix puppy, taken from the Humane Society of Boulder Valley

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley was broken into late Saturday night and a puppy was stolen from the Adoption Center.

Rosie, a pitbull mix puppy, was the only thing missing from the break-in.

The puppy, Rosie, suffers from a skin condition called Demadex Mange, which is a chronic skin condition that if left untreated can cause life long skin problems.

She is being treated for Mange and is on medication. The Humane Society of Boulder Valley is very concerned about her welfare and care and urges the community to contact the Boulder Police Department at 303-441-3333 if they recognize Rosie or have any information that could lead to her return.

Why steal a mix with mange and on medication? Adoption fees must be sky-high.

Hopefully the medication that the pup needs does not leave her with pink fur. I would not want the Stonerville Humane Society to have to cite itself for defacing a dog. ;-)

Seriously, I hope the dweeb that kiped the dog will bring her back.

Adoption fees aren't that bad. They're around $175 and they already spay and neuter the dogs. Plus give a free bag of food and free vet visit. The people who stole her, are obviously educationally challenged or they wouldn't be stealing a dog in the first place.

Some people don't realize that they are impacting poor Rosie's health.Whomever took rosie take her back so that she can get her treatments. If you stole her for your family, know this the disease she has can lead to and causes death. So Rosie needs her treatment. If you really care about her take her back she does not deserve to suffer needlessly.

See, I thought that in Boulder, you couldn't actually OWN a dog. The Boulder City Council has endorsed the fact that humans are merely the CARETAKER COMPANION of a dog. And if that's true, this isn't theft. It's just a reassignment of the caretaker/companion. You can't steal what isn't owned. Right, Boulder?

Why is this news? "Man Bites Dog" is news... "Man Steals Diseased Mutt" is not. I suppose the PRB folk will have a cow over this...spend thousands investigating the case of the medically challenged puppy...."SOMEONE WILL PAY!" they vow. Animal rights nuts will jump in and make it a cause celeb..."Save Puppy!" "Give money for organ transplant to save puppy"..."New skin for puppy..." Some twit Congressperson will hold hearings on this "tragic situation" sponser millions of dollars for research to find the cure for puppy dandruff.... pass criminal legislation calling it "Puppy's Law" making it a felony to give unauthorized care to "at risk" canines.

    The world's gone mad.

McLean & Stevens probably stole the dog like they do everything else. Since it is part pit bull, they will train it to keep all others off their ill-gotten land.

Too bad Rosie wasn't a year older. She might have taken a bite out of crime!
