Number of diners rises 33% from 2007

Denver diners turned out in droves for Restaurant Week, soaring 33 percent over last year, according to numbers released Wednesday.
In all, 158,340 customers participated in the Feb. 23-29 event, when two diners can eat a three-course meal at 174 participating restaurants for a fixed price of $52.80.
Denver Restaurant Week started in 2005 with 84 restaurants, grew to 120 in 2006, climbed to 149 in 2007 and set a record in 2008 with 174.
