Matt Holliday led his Rockies teammates to the NL West pennant and spurred renewed interest in the team heading into the 2008 season.
Qwest Communications says it has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Colorado Rockies and has signed on all-star left fielder Matt Holliday to promote the Denver telco’s communications and community services.
Financial terms of the agreements weren’t disclosed.
“Qwest is a great supporter of the Rockies and the Colorado community, and I’m looking forward to being a part of the Qwest team,” Holliday said in a statement.
Beginning Friday, Qwest will donate $100 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado for each run batted in by Holliday during the regular season, up to $10,000. Holliday also will appear in Qwest advertising.
In-game promotions and a fan sweepstakes in May and June will be conducted as part of a three-year sponsorship agreement between Qwest and the Rockies.
