Daniel Chester Hinote and Amy Roseann McCarthy will tie the knot in front of 400 '50s-era-clad folks June 25 at Keystone Ranch.
"Amy and I both like to dress up and make things a little different," said the former Avalanche player who now plays for the St. Louis Blues. "(The attire) could mean a million things - Grease, Rat Pack, Mafia with zoot suits."
Hinote and McCarthy, both 31, who plan to hang in Colorado for the summer, met through a mutual friend. She moved to St. Louis nearly two years ago where she's an actress, model, personal trainer for obese children, writes for a St. Louis magazine and volunteers at a hospital. "She's busier than I am half the time," Hinote said. They plan to settle in Denver once he retires.
The hockey-star studded wedding party includes Peter Forsberg, Shjon Podein, Brad Larson, John-Michael Liles, Brett MacClean and Rick Berry, along with pals Brian Thompson, Ben Stromberg, John Zakhem and brother-in-law Dave Christensen.
McCarthy will have 10 bridesmaids including her actress sister, Jenny McCarthy. Will Jenny's famous main squeeze Jim Carrey attend the nuptials?
"I doubt it," Hinote said. "That man's busier than the president."
LAUGH TRACKS: Rocky sports columnist and stand-up comic Sam Adams has launched his Big Time-Small Town Comedy Tour, visiting various burgs in Nebraska and Colorado. Comedians Rubi Nicholas, Stephanie McHugh and Christopher Cannon, along with Miss Rodeo Colorado 2008 Megan Grieve, will join Adams at different stops.
Next up: Nissi's in Lafayette on Wednesday, followed by Bongo Billy's Cafe in Salida on Thursday, The New Plantation in Evans Friday and May 24, and the big closer at Hudson Gardens in Littleton May 30. "Yes, I plan to make every show, and still write my column, update my blog and forum and do Sam-ulcasts without skipping a beat," he said. Ticket info: likethebeer.com.
JACKIE JUMPS: Longtime Denver radio DJ Jackie Selby jumps into the KOSI-FM (101.1) 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. slot starting Monday, replacing Steve Hamilton who's left the station. Selby, a veteran of Alice and The Peak, most recently worked at Martini on the Rockies, which drastically changed its format from adult standards to a much more edgy and modern song set earlier this year. Selby also is the voice of Venus, an animated light show at Caesar's Palace.
THE SEEN: Comedian Roseanne Barr shopping at Nieman-Marcus Friday.
Hockey hunks Hinote and Forsberg with their significant others McCarthy and Michelle Wallace dining at Sushi Den Thursday.
