Mia Farrow bypassed Exhibit Darfur at the last minute for a trip to Darfur, but she was there in spirit. Her pictures of Darfur were part of the exhibit at Ditto Gallery at Speer and 12th. Gov. Bill Ritter addressed a well-heeled crowd gathered to view the Darfur exhibit. "We attach areas to our own best interests," said the governor. "Darfur is a call to lead the conversation." Ritter and Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff talked about the state legislation that passed 99-1 in Colorado to require Colorado's public pension fund to divest from companies doing business with the Sudanese government. Said Romanoff, "At the end of this presentation, I'll be happy to give you the address and phone number of that person." Ritter then unveiled the poster of a Mia Farrow picture that is being auctioned at the gallery. Actress Melissa Fitzgerald, who played the assistant to CJ on the "West Wing," has been making a documentary on Uganda. She was going to read her winning piece on her work in a displaced persons camp that she submitted in a New York Times contest. "I called my mom, and I said, 'Sit down, ' I won a writing contest.' I hate writing, that's why I'm an actress because I like reading other people's writing." Actress Joy Bryant, who just finished a sci-fi pilot for Fox called "Virtuality," has come for "the convention madness. I've been doing work for Barack's campaign," she said. She'll be at Invesco for the speech later this week. "I know him," she said, "but I haven't been over for dinner."
