Police are searching for a gunman who shot a security guard in the leg during a disturbance in a nightclub parking lot Sunday morning.
The shooting occurred about 2 a.m. outside the Club Fantasia at West Sixth Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, said police spokesman Steve Davis.
Davis said the victim was one of several security guards who tried to stop a confrontation that broke out in the parking lot just after the club had closed.
Witnesses told police that a man in a yellow car, either a Ford Mustang or a Dodge Charger, fired several shots from the vehicle as it fled the scene.
The 21-year-old guard, who police said suffered a non-life threatening injury, was transported to Saint Anthony Central Hospital, where his condition was unknown.
Police withheld the injured man's name.
Investigators are looking for a gunman described as a Hispanic male, possibly with a shaved head, who goes by the nickname "Shadow." He was riding in a car with a black racing stripe.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Lakewood Police at 303-987-7111.
