IS A CAMPFIRE A 'BIOMASS ENERGY TECHNOLOGY'?

The second annual Wood to Energy and Biomass Utilization short course will be held at Colorado State University in January. The two-week course focuses on energy and non-energy uses of forest biomass and related technologies.

The first week emphasizes forestry and forest management, and the second week focuses on energy technology applications.

WITH PLASTIC BRICKS

The Douglas County Libraries are offering a free introduction to robotics for students in grades three to seven, using LEGO Mindstorm NXT robotics kits and laptop computers. Participants will build a robot and program it to follow commands. The educational workshop uses history, math and science concepts to "unlock the fun in learning."
