Joe Nacchio's attorney and a government prosecutor will face off today in a Denver courtroom, as a three-judge panel of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals considers the former Qwest CEO's fate.
The three judges - Jerome A. Holmes, Paul J. Kelly and Michael W. McConnell - will hear arguments at 2 p.m. today at the Byron White U.S. Courthouse at 18th and Stout streets.
A federal jury convicted Nacchio in April of 19 counts of insider trading. In July, U.S. District Judge Edward Nottingham sentenced him to six years in prison and ordered him to forfeit $52 million and pay a $19 million fine.
Nacchio's attorneys say he should be acquitted or granted a new trial.
