Celebrities' lunchboxes help feed kids
Let's do lunch - boxes. That's what more than 150 celebrities did - decorate lunchboxes for charity to benefit two hunger relief organizations.
The lunchboxes, designed by luminaries in the entertainment, fashion, art, music, literary and culinary worlds, are to be sold in an online auction ending at midnight Dec. 21.
Elton John designed a white lunchbox covered in colorful images of trolls. Eva Mendes offered a psychedelic creation. Julia Stiles did one that shows a photo of the Brooklyn Bridge on one side and of trees on the other. Kevin Smith sketched Bullwinkle on his.
Other celebrities who contributed designs included Michael Stipe, Richie Rich, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, Lisa Marie Presley and Beyonce.
The auction, which hopes to raise upward of $200,000, will benefit Food Bank for New York City, which feeds 1.3 million New Yorkers annually, and The Lunchbox Fund, which provides lunch to impoverished schoolchildren in South Africa. Find it online at thelunchboxfund.org.
New model face for Maybelline
Following in the high- heeled footsteps of supermodels Christy Turlington, Adriana Lima and Erin Wasson is Jessica White, the newest face for Maybelline New York.
White has starred in campaigns for Chloe and the Gap and has been seen in the pages of Harper's Bazaar, Teen Vogue and the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. White's Maybelline campaign launches in February.
'GQ' event dishes up style, gossip
Every movement and utterance seemed to have colossal significance at GQ's 12th annual "Men of the Year" recent party in Hollywood.
Shaun White's revelation that he's contemplating a Mohawk haircut and Julian Schnabel's contemplative pose were easy to interpret. And it didn't take a fashion designer to notice that Casey Affleck had just been fitted with a new John Varvatos suit.
But Ben Foster's attachment to a gargoyle at an outdoor fountain and Mike Medavoy's whispered words to Vanessa Redgrave were somewhat mysterious.
Bill Clinton, Daniel Craig and Kanye West, who headline GQ's three different covers this month, didn't make the gig.
