Twinkle Little Charms
* Personalized jewelry and gift items
Price: $20-$100
Where you can get it: twinklelittlecharms.com
Business owners: Samantha McHarg and Kim Strange
Location: Castle Rock
Tidbits: The ladies behind Twinkle Little Charms believe in providing gifts that celebrate life's special moments.
Their company, which launched in April, specializes in selling sterling silver jewelry and gift items that also can be engraved in a variety of fonts.
"Our main customers are new moms and grandmothers," said co-owner Samantha McHarg. "Everything we sell is unique, special and personal. It's a gift that will last a person's whole life and, possibly, become a family heirloom."
The company's biggest sellers include the sterling silver charm necklace and bracelet.
The charms can feature a name on one side and, for an additional charge, a birth date on the opposite side.
Additional items offered include rings, bookmarks, baby jewelry and rattles, and for the men, money clips and business-card holders.
All the jewelry comes in a little organza bag, and each item ordered arrives gift wrapped with a card.
McHarg added that holiday wrapping paper also is available by request.

Coil Art Marketing
* Creative packaging for gift cards
Price: $3.95
Where you can get it: Castle Rock Gift & Garden, Heritage Cards & Gifts and Studio B Interiors
Business owner: Pamela Herrmann
Location: Castle Rock
Tidbits: During this holiday season, giving gift cards can be just as fun and more convenient than trolling the mall for the perfect present. All you need is an elegant, yet funky, gift card box because, as the Japanese art of gift giving goes, it's as much about the wrapping as what's inside.
"Consumers are looking for permission to give gift cards," Herrmann said. "By providing a packaging alternative that's more creative than a greeting card, the recipient may feel the giver took more time with the gift."
The company offers five, all-occasion gift card boxes made with card stock, featuring four-color printing with designs inside and out. Holiday presenters in the flat-fold design also will be available within the next two weeks.
"Castle Rock Gift & Garden is a great example of a store selling gift cards during the holidays that won't be redeemed until the spring," Herrmann added, "and the gift card packaging is already available."
