Michele Haney, president of Morgan County Community College, will become the new president of Red Rocks Community College in January.
Nancy McCallin, president of the Colorado Community College System, announced Tuesday that she had chosen Haney, one of two finalists for the Red Rocks job.
Haney has worked for Colorado community colleges since 1992.
She served as an administrator at Front Range Community College in Westminster and Boulder before taking the Morgan County job in August 2003.
While she was president, Morgan County Community College ranked first in student retention and graduation rates within the community college system.
