* North Colorado Medical Center was named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals for cardiovascular care by Thomson Healthcare for its performance treating heart attacks, congestive heart failure, coronary artery bypass surgery and cardiac catheterization procedures.
* Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network elected Thomas J. Flanagan, chief executive officer of Citywide Banks, as its board president.

* Colorado State University hired Michele McKinney to direct public relations efforts promoting Colorado State University in Denver.
* The civil division of the Justice Department awarded John Price, chief of the Office of Enforcement for the Minerals Revenue Management Program of the Minerals Management Service, which has offices in Denver, its Special Commendation Award during a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
