Travis Henry says his successful appeal "feels great."

There is at least one person with a vested interest in Sunday's Chiefs- Broncos game who had not been apprised of running back Travis Henry's successful appeal to the NFL.

"Hey, I'm underground, I don't read the newspaper," Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said Wednesday when asked his reaction to the news.

Told Henry had won the appeal, Edwards said, "Oh, OK. Good for him."

And so it was, on the first day of the rest of the season for Henry.

He took a few questions, offering his knee was "about 80 percent" and the result of his appeal "was great, feels great, feels great. It was good, man."

Then he quickly added he was "done with interviews."

Henry, the NFL said, still remains in the league's substance-abuse program, which means he can be tested up to 10 times a month.

The possibility of a one-year suspension had hung over Henry and the Broncos for much of the season - until this week.

"I'm glad it's over, and it's time to move on, get ready for the Chiefs," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said.

"I'm happy for Travis, happy for Travis. Now it's time to go on to the next step, get ready for this week."

Quarterback Jay Cutler said the players "are happy for him. We have backed Travis as much as we possibly can, along with coach Shanahan and this whole organization. We're happy he got off and everything got cleared up. He's back with us."
