Broncos coach Mike Shanahan reacted strongly Monday to a question about defensive boss Jim Bates' first-year performance.
"If we don't get it done, it comes back to me," Shanahan said. "Don't worry about Jim Bates or the coaches or the offensive line coaches. Talk about my situation. Do that, and we'll be all right."
Running back woes
The Broncos could be short- handed at running back Sunday against Kansas City.
Selvin Young was receiving treatment for an upper right arm injury, but Andre Hall (sprained ankle) could return. Travis Henry's status with the league remains unresolved.

Shammy's right - it does all come back to him.
But what "situation" is he talking about? The coach-for-life situation? He's apparently accountable to no one, so what's there to talk about?

Hi....Shanny here. I know I'm nothing more than a mediocre coach.....but the money is good. What Bowlen doesn't know, won't hurt him.
