Bread of the week

While out and driving about this summer on my tasting rounds, I've started revisiting some of my favorite Bread of the Week venues. I was happy to find that the Christopher treats were as yummy as ever at the cozy Buffalo Doughboy Bakery, 33 E. Dakota Ave., between Broadway and Lincoln. The signature creation tucks buttery, flaky dough in a muffin space with a middle of almonds, raisins, sugar and spice topped after baking with whipped cream-cheese frosting. The eclectic bakery also sells - depending on the mood of the baker - good croissants, soft cranberry scones, savory and sweet brioche, sweet bear claws and cookies.
