WILL: A lot of heat, too little light
Few phenomena generate as much heat as disputes about current orthodoxies concerning global warming.
KRAUTHAMMER: Down the slippery slope
Not a great speech, but extremely consequential. If Barack Obama succeeds, his joint address to Congress will be seen as historic — indeed as the foundational document of Obamaism. As it stands, it constitutes the boldest social democratic manifesto ever issued by a U.S. president.
Blue mustang at DIA just plain ugly
In simple answer to Mr. Brown’s perplexity as to the hatred of ‘Mustang’—-it’s because it’s ugly.
Introduce flexibility and reason into school weapon laws
It’s about time the Colorado legislature look at introducing flexibility and reason into school weapon laws. Other states such as Texas now have laws mandating the consideration of intent and previous behavior into the suspension and expulsion process.
Address foreign visa holders occupying jobs that US citizens could do
With thousands of Coloradans out of work, especially in the technology and engineering sectors, the time has come to address the foreign visa holders occupying jobs which can be held by able bodied citizens of the United States. Some employers have abused the H1 Visa programs by insisting they need to hire foreign nationals, because they cannot find American citizens who can perform the work.
War crimes should be investigated by appropriate authorities
The Palestinian Authority/Hamas has committed war crimes that should be investigated by the appropriate authorities.
Obama goes back on his word
The most massive expansion of Government in history is about to be signed by the same person who said those words just weeks ago. If he signs it, that will be another direct repudiation of what he said to get elected. I
Only criminals need fear an armed citizen
I write this letter in opposition to H.R. 45. The legislation calls for the federal registration and licensing of particular types of firearms, those with detachable magazines and all pistols.
George Will's column against global warming pathetic and ironic
He relies on the same wispy curiosity of history as do the other desperate neocon global warming deniers: that a few scientists in the 70’s thought we were going through a cooling period.
Rocky opinion pages overrun with same anti-conservative philosophy of Post
I do not know how publisher John Temple expects the Rocky Mountain News to live up to its reputation as the loyal opposition when he allows his opinion pages to be overrun with the same anti-conservative philosophy of The Denver Post.
“War on Drugs” can't be won with laws, law enforcement officers and prisons
Moving the drug addiction problem out of the hands of Law Enforcement and into a controlled medical environment with an unlimited access to treatment would eliminate 70-80% of crime involving theft and as such would reduce the prison population accordingly.
Why were auto maker execs chastised and not Obama?
Big auto makers were chastised, as financially hypocritical, for flying into Wash., D.C. in their big corporate jets to ask for bail out money; yet President Hussein Obama can fly into Denver, Colorado, in his big jet (and entourage) just to put his autograph on a piece of paper that’s supposed to “stimulate” everyone?
From Japan, with respect
It is so sad. United States, the land of free press, lost one of the best part of newspapers.
I can't stop crying
I cannot stop crying this morning; it will never be the same...
Rest in peace, dear Rocky
It's a sad day for the newspaper business, as the Rocky Mountain News, another victim of the Internet, publishes its last edition today, and with that, adds to the growing list of top-notch, unemployed journalists.
Rocky photographer saddened
I worked as a staff photographer at the Rocky from 1991 to 2000 ...
Rocky's final edition elicits memories
Sadly, I awoke to find the final edition of the Rocky in my driveway. It brought back memories ...
Farewell from Aurora
I’m so sorry to see the Rocky depart from the scene.
Sorry I took the Rocky for granted
I face a sad irony today on the day of your last edition.
Longtime Rocky writer's stepson remembers
My step father, John Accola, worked for the Rocky for 22 years until his sudden death in 2006.
