John Malone's Liberty Media agreed to buy BuySeasons, which describes itself as the largest online costume retailer. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Douglas County-based Liberty has bolstered its portfolio of e-commerce offerings in recent months, adding ProFlowers owner Provide Commerce and expanding home shopping channel QVC's online presence.
BuySeasons' flagship brand is BuyCostumes, which is one of the most visited sites on the Internet during the Halloween season.
The purchase is expected to close in the third quarter, Liberty said. Following the deal, Liberty Media will attribute Buyseasons to its Liberty Interactive tracking stock, which also includes the company's interests in IAC/Interactive Corp. and Expedia Inc.
