Business owner: Sarah Edgar
Location: Broomfield
Tidbits: Event and party planning is in Edgar's blood. That's why she started a business creating themed bashes and gifts full of high-quality items that could outlast the busiest party host or hostess.
"It can be overwhelming for some people to put together events," she said. "That's where I enter. I'll put the event together, using fun and edgy products that can be used over and over."
Themed bashes range from a "Girls' Night In" and "Poker Night" to "Martini Madness" and "Moroccan Mingle Bash."
Edgar creates each event for eight people, with the option to add more in quantities of four. Examples of products in most of the kits, packaged in an actual bag, include: four candles with holders, a CD with music appropriate to the bash, tabletop decorations, custom-made invitations and, with the food bashes, eight complete place settings.
Edgar also provides themed gifts that include "Harried Housewife" "Divorced Diva" and "Golf Guru."
Coming soon to the Bash in a Bag line - Halloween, harvest, holiday and New Year's Eve events.

Indoor bocce ball
Price: $98 (with promotional code 010110), plus shipping and handling
Where you can get it: bohobocce.com
Business owner: Brad Droy
Location: Denver
Tidbits: It's officially fall and Colorado temperatures are beginning to drop. But that doesn't mean the backyard games of summer have to end.
Droy, while perusing a little boutique, noticed a display of felt balls stacked in a wire basket, and the idea of an indoor bocce ball set, which could double as home décor, fell into line.
The nine bocce balls - four purple, four green and the white small ball, or "jack" - are handmade in Nepal where the people use 100 percent solid wool and Swiss dyes. The balls weigh 4 ounces, are 3 1/2 inches in diameter and are machine washable.
In addition, each bocce ball set comes with a basket of the buyer's choice, a "to go" bag, a measuring string and an instruction book.
"Because the balls are lighter, grandparents can play with their grandkids," Droy said, "and the set is simply a nice decoration in your house when not in use."
