Infinitea Kombucha
Flavored, fermented tea
Price: Varies by retailer
Where you can get it: Natural food stores
Business owner: Nicole Gervace
Location: Boulder
Tidbits: If you like beverages in the flavor of wine or apple cider vinegar and that include a slew of health benefits, then Gervace's Infinitea Kombucha, a fermented tea, might be just what your acupuncturist ordered.
Gervace started making the specialized tea for herself three years ago because of a dairy allergy. When friends began buying the tea from her in mass quantities, she decided to make it commercially.
Gervace's tea is made by adding Kombucha, a solid mass of bacteria yeast, to tea sweetened with organic sugar, which must ferment for 30 days. The tea is then strained, and organic fruit juices blueberry pomegranate, ginger or lemon citrus are added for flavor.
"Education is a key component in the Kombucha business," Gervace said. "Many drinkers of the tea believe in the health benefits, which include improving digestion and metabolism, easing arthritis pain and increasing energy."

Verità, hot flash cooling spray
Price: Varies by retailer
Where you can get it: Ageless Living Center, BuyBeauty.com and CORE Nutrition
Business owner: Melissa France
Location: Westminster
Tidbits: Women who suffer from hot flashes due to menopause are in luck.
France, in response to her mother's experiencing hot flashes, contacted a chemist she knew to create a product that would offer women fast relief in a discreet manner.
"Our skin sweats to cool us down," France said. "We decided to work that by creating a cooling spray instead of a product that works from the inside out."
Verità , the Italian word for "truth," contains a botanical blend of ingredients, including marine algae - a natural moisturizer that cools and hydrates the skin. Each spray comes in a 2.5-ounce, environmentally friendly aluminum container and lasts about one month.
Although Verità can be sprayed during a hot flash, France recommends the product be used as soon as women feel it starting.
"The spray is triggering the brain to think 'I don't have to go through the sweating process,' " France added. "It also feels really good."
