Tidbits: Adducci has been making custom glass art since he was 16 years old.
"I worked alongside my mother. She taught me everything I know about designing and creating stained-glass art." Before her death, Adducci accepted his mother's suggestion to take over her work and make it his own. Five years later, he has created more than 200 stained-glass windows. His work is used in churches, hospitals, private homes and cemeteries.
Adducci starts by ordering sheets of hand-blown, colored glass. From there, he cuts, pieces together and assembles the glass, based on the design. He also installs each of his windows at no extra charge. "We actually don't remove the existing window, but simply lay the glass art against it." Projects have included large commercial installations, sidelights and arched entryways, depending on the customer's request. "Each design is based on what the customer wants. No two pieces are alike," he added.
Adducci Stained Glass Studio will be at the Festival Italiano, Sept. 23-24 in Lakewood.
