Talks to trade Warren continue; release is possibility

IRVING, Texas - The Broncos continued to work the phones Wednesday, trying to find a trading partner for defensive tackle Gerard Warren.
Whether those talks will be successful, coach Mike Shanahan wasn't ready to say.
"When I know something about Gerard, something definitive, I'll let you guys know," Shanahan said.
Warren remained behind when the Broncos played in San Francisco on Monday night and remained behind when the team came to Texas for the week. The Broncos have tried to work a trade, but no team has been willing to part with a draft pick that satisfies the Broncos.
If the Broncos don't believe a trade is forthcoming, some in the organization believe Warren then will be released.
The Redskins are believed to be one of the teams the Broncos are talking with and Indianapolis coach Tony Dungy, who has lost defensive tackle Anthony McFarland for the season because of an injury, said the Colts were "always interested in good players," when asked about Warren at the team's training camp.
