Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony said Friday he "probably" will miss at least one game next week because of the birth of his first child.
Anthony's fiancee, La La Vazquez, is due to give birth to a baby boy Tuesday. The Nuggets play New Orleans/Oklahoma City at home Tuesday, then will fly to California for a Wednesday game at Golden State.
"Oh, yeah, I'm going to be there," Anthony said of the birth.
Anthony said it hasn't been determined when or if he will travel to Golden State. A decision won't be reached until more is known about the birth.
"I do know that," Nuggets coach George Karl said of Anthony possibly missing game action. "I think family is always more important. How he responds, what he dictates or what he wants to do. I know he wants to be with the team. Hopefully, we're in a healthy place and it won't be a dangerous situation."
