CityLights Pavilion, the summer-only concert venue on the grounds of the Pepsi Center, has canceled its 2007 season.
The 5,500-seat pavilion generally hosts a couple of dozen acts a year, and already has four dates booked for this year, including the Marshall Tucker Band and Weird Al Yankovic. However, no tickets had gone onsale yet.
Officials for the promoter Live Nation and land owner Kroenke Sports, partners in the venue, announced Friday that the season was canceled, citing conflicts with Cirque du Soleil and the upcoming Democratic National Convention in 2008. The soonest the venue could reopen would be the summer of 2009.
Live Nation recently merged with House of Blues, giving it another outdoor venue in the form of Coors Amphitheatre. Live Nation has also been the promoter who booked the most shows at Red Rocks in past years.
