Tattoos are going bicoastal with the August premiere of LA Ink, featuring Kat Von D. The catalyst for the spinoff of TLC's highly rated Miami Ink was months of infighting between artists Ami James and Kat Von D that results in a dramatic showdown featured in the season finale on May 8. With LA Ink, TLC breaks down the stereotypes of a tattoo artist further by featuring several strong, independent working women. Meanwhile, the boys of Miami Ink already are filming the third season, to begin June 12.
