EMMY DRAMA
If The West Wing wins its fifth Emmy as best drama, it would break a tie with Hill Street Blues and L.A. Law. Each has won four.
Fox, which has never won in the drama series category, has two entries this year, with 24 and House - the first time the network has scored two drama- category nominations in the same year.
EMMY LAUGHTER
Frasier holds the record for most Emmys won as best comedy series - five.
Candice Bergen (Murphy Brown) and Don Knotts (Andy Griffith Show) each won five Emmys for the same role in the same series - an Emmy record.
EMMY HEROES
Dwight Hemion, music-variety show producer-director; and James L. Brooks, comedy series producer-director, have won the most Emmys, 18.
CARTOON BATTLE
The Simpsons, for the ninth time, has been honored with an Emmy as best animated series, beating out South Park. The award was announced earlier this week during a program for the creative arts categories.
