J.D. Drew's eighth-inning sacrifice fly broke up a pitching duel between the Red Sox's Tim Wakefield and the Rockies' Aaron Cook. Cook allowed seven hits and two runs in 7 1/3 innings, striking out four and walking two. Yorvit Torrealba had two hits and drove in a run for the Rockies, who were held to four hits. June 13 Rockies 12, Red Sox 2
Todd Helton drove in four runs as the Rockies blasted Boston and Curt Schilling. Rockies starter Josh Fogg allowed seven hits and two runs in five innings, striking out four and walking one to get the win. Schilling was smacked around, giving up six runs (five earned) and nine hits in five innings.
June 14 Rockies 7, Red Sox 1
The World Series Game 1 pitchers also met four months ago, with the Rockies' Jeff Francis coming out on top. Francis scattered seven hits in five-plus innings. Josh Beckett suffered his first loss after getting rocked for 10 hits, including Garrett Atkins' third-inning grand slam, and six runs in five innings.
