Scouting report: Houston Astros
Series history: The Rockies trail 60-59 overall but lead 38-19 in Denver and 29-18 at Coors Field.
Roster: Reliever Rick White (pinched nerve, neck) went on the disabled list Friday and catcher Eric Munson was promoted from Triple-A Round Rock (Texas). Infielder/outfielder Chris Burke was recalled Sunday from Round Rock and outfielder Jason Lane was optioned there. Pitcher Brandon Backe (right elbow) is on the disabled list.
Quickly: The Astros have lost 14 of 17. They're 10-17 on the road and tied with Washington for the worst road record in the National League. Houston's 5.24 ERA on the road is last in the league. . . . Brad Lidge, a Cherry Creek High School graduate, has pitched seven consecutive scoreless innings in his past six games and has an 0.84 ERA in his past 20 games, allowing two earned runs, 12 hits and four walks with 32 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings. . . . Carlos Lee leads the National League with 52 RBI and is tied with Detroit's Magglio Ordoñez for the major league lead. Lee has driven in a run in six of his past eight games, a total of 11 RBI during that period.
Etc.
Opponents have outhomered the Rockies 50-36 in 57 games overall and 25-24 in 30 games at Coors Field. . . . The Rockies have gone 9-4 since Kazuo Matsui returned from the disabled list May 21 and 8-4 in games in which he played. . . . Brad Hawpe has a .411 on-base percentage, in part because of 32 walks - he has 33 strikeouts - and 23 of his 35 RBI have come with two out. . . . Matt Holliday, who set a career-high by getting a hit in 14 straight games April 17 from May 1, has a 12-game hitting streak. . . . Catchers Yorvit Torrealba and Chris Iannetta are in slumps. Torrealba has four hits in his past 34 at-bats, dropping his average from .253 to .215. The last time his average was lower was May 8 at .214. Iannetta is hitless in his past 10 at-bats. . . . LaTroy Hawkins has one blown save but has pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings in five games since coming off the disabled list May 22. . . . In his past seven games, Manny Corpas has allowed one run, two hits and three walks with nine strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings. . . . Willy Taveras is batting a season-high .327 with the help of a nine-game hitting streak (18-for-43) that includes six multihit games.
