Shabala HR beats Sky Sox

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno third baseman Adam Shabala hit a home run in the eighth inning off Sky Sox reliever Randy Williams to give the Grizzlies a 6-5 win in a Pacific Coast League game.

Jason Smith hit his first home run, off Grizzlies reliever Jack Taschner, to tie the score at five in the top of the eighth inning.

Taschner ended up getting the victory, pitching two innings while striking out three.

Sky Sox starter Miguel Asencio pitched 5 2/3 innings. He left the game with the score tied at four. Asencio also had an RBI.

Grizzlies first baseman Chad Santos had a home run in the second inning off Asencio. Santos was 2-for-2 with three RBI. Right fielder Todd Linden had a double and triple with two RBI.

Sky Sox catcher Miguel Ojeda went 2-for-3 with one run scored.
