A battle over a downtown parking spot instigated a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Monday night, police said.
It was the second downtown shooting in less than 48 hours. Early Sunday, a man was killed and six were wounded just six blocks away in LoDo.
The Monday shooting occurred about 9:50 p.m. near 15th and Stout streets after jockeying over the parking space escalated and groups jumped from two cars and began fighting, said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson.
The shooter drove away, Jackson said.
The victim, who police have not identified, was shot in the stomach and is expected to survive.
One of the shooting victim's passengers was treated for cuts and bruises.
Police are pursuing witness accounts and have some leads on a possible suspect, but investigators have not released any descriptions of the combatants or vehicles.
