It might not be Fenway Park or Coors Field, but baseball fans will be able to watch the World Series at Skyline Park starting tonight.
All games, home and away, will be broadcast at the park at 16th and Arapahoe streets.
"We'll be broadcasting the World Series in high definition on a 40-foot inflatable screen," Nick Klausner, a partner with the Cool Hand Group, an event and promotions company, said today.
Klausner said people should bring their own chairs to the free event. Organizers will start setting up at 3:30 p.m.
The park can comfortably hold up to 500 people, but up to 1,000 are expected.
"Downtown is definitely going to be buzzing and this just gives people another fun and exciting reason to be in downtown Denver, to support the Rockies," he said. "Plus, a 40-foot screen is so much fun. It's a big giant inflatable screen, kind of like a bouncy castle."
Concessions will be sold, although maybe not tonight, he said.
Klausner said the event is being organized in partnership with Fox Television, Denver Parks and Recreation, the Downtown Denver Partnership and the Cool Hand Group.
