Colorado's first Powerball winner will clutch a $20 million check this afternoon.
The jackpot has a cash value of $9.4 million.
The winner's family will meet with members of the Colorado Lottery management team, the Colorado Lottery Commission, and the Department of Revenue at the lottery offices.
Representatives of a Safeway store in Westminster, where the winning ticket was sold, also will be present when the check is awarded, state lottery officials said.
Safeway store managers received $50,000 for selling the winning ticket.
The winner will decide whether to choose the cash option or the annuity, officials said.
The winning numbers, picked on Oct. 10, were 12, 16, 31, 33 and 54.
The Powerball was 5.
