Campus police say a University of Colorado student was sexually assaulted in her dorm room Thursday night by one of two naked men believed to have been tripping on acid seen running around campus earlier in the evening.
Just after 9 p.m., 911 dispatchers received a call that a nude man was running down Regent Drive masturbating, CU police Cmdr. Brad Wiesley said.
Shortly thereafter, dispatchers received a call about a second man running naked around the Cheyenne-Arapahoe residence hall.
Dispatchers then fielded a third call reporting that a naked man believed to be the first streaker, who had been spotted on Regent had entered Hallett Hall and was running down the halls, knocking on doors and yelling.
Wiesley said the suspect made it to the third floor, where two female students opened their door. He tackled one of the women and sexually assaulted her, Wiesley said, before male residents on the floor intervened and restrained the man until officers arrived.
"Its crazy," said Alex Reedy, 18, a freshman resident of Hallett, who was injured in the scuffle. "It hasnt really set in right now that I got punched by a crazy naked guy."
The two nude men, believed to be roommates, were transported to Boulder Community Hospital, where they were being treated for suspected drug overdoses. Police said they believe the two took LSD together and decided to get naked and run around.
Police today identified the assault suspect as Chandler Ross Wyatt, a 20-year-old CU freshman. He faces charges of sexual assault, harassment, indecent exposure, second-degree trespassing, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
The other naked man has not yet been identified by police.
