FORT COLLINS College Republicans at Colorado State University want the editor of the student newspaper to resign after he used a vulgarity in an editorial before the word "Bush."
The group plans to rally against editor David McSwane from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today after the F-word appeared in Friday's edition of the Collegian newspaper.
McSwane said the purpose in using the word was for students to engage in a dialogue about free speech. He admitted the word was profane.
The head of the CSU Republicans said being profane is not the same as being profound.
"It doesn't even matter the word that's after that," said Chelsey Penoyer, chairwoman of the CSU College Republicans. "It is just a plain out offensive word to use."
The group will also be gathering signatures today calling for
McSwane to resign. McSwane is refusing to quit.
