Denver police today are still looking for a man suspected of killing his wife and fleeing to Mexico with the couple's 7-year-old daughter.

"We're talking to anyone knows where he might have gone to and looking at those leads. We're talking to people who know where he's from and where he has connections," said police spokesman Sonny Jackson.

"We're still very concerned for her," he said.

Police suspect that Hilario Martinez-Fabela, 34, killed his 32-year-old wife Araseli Chavez-Vasquez in the couple's home in Montbello on Friday or early Saturday.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Martinez-Fabela yesterday.

Officers were called to the home in the 5500 block of Hannibal Street about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on a welfare check.

They forced their way into the home and found the woman dead.

Police have not released a motive in the slaying and did not issue an Amber Alert for the missing child.

The couple were married for 11 years and had adopted their daughter, Breanna, when she was 8 months old, the cousin said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
