Sky Gallegos, a Denver native who has worked for several years as a political consultant in Washington D.C., has been appointed the deputy chief executive for intergovernmental affairs at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
Gallegos, 38, will work with elected officials and interest groups seeking limited seating and hotel rooms.
She worked as the California political director for Sen. John Kerrys 2004 presidential campaign and was the chief western strategist for Vice President Al Gores 2000 presidential run.
Gallegos, who will move to Denver later this summer, was appointed to the position by Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean.
