A former Brighton Charter High School teacher is expected to be sentenced this morning in Larimer County district court for having unlawful sexual contact with one of her students.
Carrie McCandless, 30, pleaded guilty in April to a misdemeanor count of having unlawful sexual contact, a second misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and a felony count of tampering with physical evidence.
As part of her guilty pleas, McCandless faces 45 days in jail and five years of supervised probation.
The high school teacher, who has since been fired, made sexual contact with a 17-year-old victim during field trip last fall. McCandless lawyer has maintained the teenager fondled his client.
