Denver Broncos wide receiver David Kircus was arrested today in Arapahoe County and charged with felony assault stemming from a fight early Sunday morning.
Kircus is accused of getting into a dispute with a man at a party in the 8200 block of South Krameria Way. According to the Arapahoe County sheriff's office, Kircus was asked repeatedly to leave the home by the homeowner. Kircus allegedly hit the homeowner in the face and reportedly broke his jaw. The 26-year-old man was taken to a local hospital.
Kircus turned himself in to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office at 10:15 this morning and was releaed after $6,000 in bond.
The sheriff's office said the dispute apparently involved a young woman at the party. There were differing versions of what took place before the fight began.
"We're going to let due process take care of itself," said Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan. "Like all situations, there's two sides to every story. Obviously, if he didn't handle himself the right way, he won't be with us. (Kircus) has a much different story than what came across from the other person."
Kircus could not be reached for comment.
