A 17-year-old Golden High School student accused of hacking into computers at the school and changing grades has been sentenced to one year probation with 80 hours of community service.

The boy pleaded guilty and was sentenced last Wednesday as a juvenile for the unlawful computer access and altering, Pam Russell, spokesperson for the Jefferson County district attorney's office, said today.

Golden police arrested the teen in February after a Jan. 29 break-in at the high school. The teen broke a skylight to get into the school and then broke into his counselor's office, Russell said.

At the time, he was suspended from school and under investigation for hacking into the teachers' computers.
