A 33-year-old former middle school teacher was sentenced to 24 years to life in prison today after being convicted of sex offenses that began with a 13-year-old boy when he was a student teacher at Bell Middle School in Golden in 1997.
Jefferson County District Judge Jane Tidball sentenced Marshall Walker, 33, in court this morning.
Walker was convicted of 35 counts for enticing young boys to pose nude in exchange for gifts when he was a teacher at Bell and Everitt middle schools in Wheat Ridge.
A former Bell student, who said he remains friends with Walker, testified that the teacher offered him a gun if he would pose nude. Walker took photos and videos of the other Everitt student on many occasions, taking them on more than 20 overnight hunting trips and giving a shotgun and other hunting equipment. Walker referred to the photo sessions as "dares."
Police seized dozens of erotic photos and several videos from Walker's home. The teacher faces charges in Adams County involving three other boys.
