CALL FOX MULDER
Forget the X-Files, check out this sighting 21 years ago in Denver in the On this Day section of a UFO Web site.
APRIL 7, 1966: Six teenagers at Daniels Park, 1315 Welch St. in Denver, heard footsteps on the roof of the shelter they were in. Then they heard a buzzing noise and saw two red lights about a foot in diameter. When they saw a tall man dressed in black, they headed to their car.
When the buzzing started again they saw two blue lights in the sky, which were joined by a bright white light. Watching from the car, they continued to hear the sound, and saw "four things like footballs with domes on them."
They drove away - with difficulty, for the engine kept stalling - and were followed by a "huge light," which did not reflect in the rearview mirror.

THE 1931 ELECTION
Denver voters faced epic lines in November when election software failed, but Extra! is perplexed by the 1931 mayoral election:
Because of a provision in the City Charter, people could cast votes for first, second and third choices among candidates (there were a total of seven).
Mayor Ben Stapleton, lost to George D. Begole primarily because Stapleton and his aides campaigned for first-choice votes only.
The final results:
Begole votes: First choice, 27,393; second choice, 14,386; third choice, 3,872 . Total: 45,651.
Stapleton votes: First choice, 41,124; second choice, 1,770; third choice, 1,767. Total: 44,661.
