Weather-related crashes continue to plague drivers on Interstate 25.
The crashes started about 10:45 a.m. this morning around Monument Hill and since then, numerous other crashes have occurred on the northbound side.
State Master Trooper Ron Watkins said by noon there were approximately 40 vehicles wrecked on the highway.
Northbound remained closed for several hours while troopers investigate and clean up the scene.
Watkins reported that around 1:00 p.m., a school bus was dispatched to the scene to transport the drivers and passengers with disabled vehicles to the Holiday Inn at I-25 and Wolfensberger in Castle Rock.
