WINNER COULD LOSE
Someone, somewhere, bought a $1 million winning Powerball ticket at a Thornton Albertson's on Sept. 16. As of Monday morning, lottery officials had yet to hear from the winner, who must claim the prize by March 15.
"Time is definitely running out, and we're getting a little nervous," Colorado Lottery director Peggy Gordon said in a statement.
The winning numbers are 7, 8, 26, 27 and 42, with a Powerball number of 12.
IT'S TREE TIME
The "Denver Digs Trees" program will be handing out trees April 21 for planting along city streets. But the application deadline is near - residents must submit a request form by March 9.
The Park People's executive director, Patrick Hayes, says the program is a way to "get involved in Mayor (John) Hickenlooper's vision of adding a million trees to metro Denver."
Trees are $20, or free for those who qualify.

WEB SITE KUDOS
Colorado's Republican Sen. Wayne Allard was honored Monday with one of 40 Bronze Mouse Awards - a third-place finish in the 2006 Gold Mouse Awards for having one of the best office Web sites in Congress.
In the competition, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, there were 18 gold winners and 27 silver winners.
