A deer herd of approximately 50 animals has taken up residence in the area of Colorado 121 and West 116th Circle in Broomfield, posing a danger to motorists.
Broomfield police Sgt. Colleen OConnell said the animals moved from Colorado 128 and Interlocken Loop and now are standing on the walkways on the side of the roads and walking up to cars that stop in the area. Police have responded to the area for traffic control and messages are being placed along the roadways later today.
Motorists are asked to remain aware and contact Broomfield police if the deer are creating a hazard.
She said the state Division of Wildlife says the herd is expected to move out as the snow melts.
Everyone is asked not to feed the deer or attempt to get close to them.
