Arctic chill headed for metro area

Freezing cold is headed our way as a weather system from the Pacific Northwest moves through the area today through Thursday.
There isn't a forecast for much snow in the Denver area, just bitter cold.
The National Weather Service advises the fog this morning is burning off along the Front Range corridor, but it extends across the plains and in some places visibility is reduced to a quarter-of-a-mile or less.
Snow showers will develop in the mountains this afternoon and become more widespread tonight, especially in the north central mountains, where 2 to 6 inches may accumulate overnight.
The Weather Service says the storm is expected to leave light to moderate accumulations of snow, and Denver may get a taste of the white stuff along with a frigid air mass that will drop temperatures well below seasonal for Wednesday and Thursday.
Denver is expected to be in the single digits Wednesday night.
Dry weather sets in again Friday.
